With names such as Outlaw, Bombshell, and Misfit, the options at Eat Street’s Glam Doll Donut Shop are anything but ordinary.

Glam Doll Donuts opened last February in Minneapolis, providing a vintage themed retreat for customers to fulfill their donut cravings.

From the second a customer arrives at the shop, this theme is apparent. The exterior of the shop features a bright pink, retro sign of a woman sitting on a donut, making it clear what the shop sells. Along with the awning, there is also a sign by the door which informs customers of any specialty donuts or events that will be happening within the store during the day.

Upon entering the shop, pink ceilings, unique tiles, elaborate chandeliers and paintings lining the walls give an overall upbeat and welcoming feel. In another attempt to enhance its vintage atmosphere, there is an old fashioned photo booth for customers to use and document their experiences at the shop.

Finally, Glam Doll features a display window where customers can observe the donuts being made, engaging customers of all ages.

As for the donuts themselves, they definitely meet if not exceed the standards set by the shop’s ambiance.

Glam Doll offers over 22 different types of constantly rotating donuts with artistic flare, ensuring that no two are alike. Ranging from the Calendar Girl (a salted caramel and chocolate donut) to the Femme Fatale (fresh raspberry creme filled donut with vanilla icing) to the Chart Topper (peanut butter and sriracha donut) the selection evidently differs from anywhere else.

The donuts are incredibly tasty and flavorful, leaving customers wanting more than just one. While the donut itself may be more on the bland side, the toppings make up for it. They range from salty with flavors such as bacon or salted caramel, to savory involving more decadent flavors such as orange ginger or tres leches. In addition, their embellished presentations make the donuts even more appealing.

Some donuts to try include the Calendar Girl as previously mentioned, the Misfit (raised donut with an orange, ginger and cinnamon infused glaze), and the Glamdoll which is the shops ever-changing weekly special.

Although some of the flavors may sound unappetizing to some, there is sure to be something for everyone with the spread provided.

In addition to donuts, Glam Doll also sells 17 different beverages including hot and cold drinks such as coffee, soft drinks, and others.

With donut prices ranging from $1.25 to $3.00 each, they are more expensive than some people may prefer, and can prevent customers from enjoying the experience.

Overall, aside from the price, Glam Doll Donuts provides a one-of-a-kind experience for customers with a sweet tooth.
