With the Jewish new year around the corner, the Jewish Student Union (JSU) is back in full swing.

The group meets to talk about timely Jewish topics such as upcoming holidays and current events in Israel.

Sam Orloff, the President of JSU at Park said the group is a great way for everyone to gain an understanding of Judaism and a sense of connection in a casual setting.

“The purpose is to give everyone, Jewish or not, a connection to Judaism- a way to ask questions or to learn about it. It works in an outreach capacity to both Jewish students and non-Jewish students,” Orloff said.

Orloff said the group allows for people of diverse backgrounds and ranging familiarity with Judaism to both learn and have a good time.

“For anyone, regardless of your knowledge of Judaism, you’re going to have a great time. The idea is to keep it at a level where everyone can participate and understand what’s going on, no matter what their background is,” Orloff said.

JSU meets from 3:20 to 4:00 p.m. every Thursday in room B134. Complimentary sushi is provided. All are welcome and encouraged to come.
