After a stressful double header, sophomore Cole Beaton bowls a strike at Park Tavern while unwinding with his teammates.

According to Beaton, the team participated in team bonding activities Sept. 24.

“Saturday we went bowling as a team and hung out at one of our captain, Anthony (Brandel’s) house,” Beaton said.

Senior captain Ian Lockhart said the varsity team participated in a double header against two different teams on Sept. 22 and 23.

“On Thursday, we played against Robbinsdale Cooper,” Lockhart said. “Friday was Minneapolis South.”

Beaton said regardless of the loss in the second game, he was impressed with the way the team performed.

“We played against Cooper first and we were supposed to win, so I’m glad we did,” Beaton said. “The second game against South was a very even game, with all of our injured players I was pretty impressed we stuck with them.”

Lockhart said the team had bonding planned with the girls’ team to relax after the stress of back-to-back games.

“It was a great way to get to know each other better and I think that that will help us have more chemistry on the field,” Lockhart said. “We did it with the girls because we wanted to create a community beyond our own teams.”

Beaton said he hopes the bonding experience will help yield better results in the following weeks.

“I think that these bonding things help build chemistry off the field,” Beaton said. “I think that will be able to help us on the field.”

The boys play their next game at 5 p.m. Sept. 27 in Bloomington against Bloomington Jefferson.
