Despite the rough start from the 0-3 Orioles football team, Head Coach Ben Wolfe thinks they are prepared to face the challenging second half of the season ahead of them.

Park lost their most recent game at Benilde St. Margaret’s last week by a score of 48-13. Although the team was not able to secure the victory, they managed to outscore the Red Knights 13-7 in the second half.

Wolfe, in his first season as Head Coach, said he has high hopes for the upcoming games even with a 0-3 start.

“Our goals are to win homecoming, beat Spring Lake Park, win playoffs and advance to the section championship,” Wolfe said. “All (of which) are very doable.”

According to senior captain Daniel Foltz, the most important way to make these goals is to take the games week by week.

“We need to get our first win,” said Foltz. “After that we’ll work to add more wins on to it”.

Wolfe said one of the most important factors in winning the Homecoming game will be the fundamentals worked on in practice.

“During practice were striving to be great at the fundamentals, doing the small things will allow us to do the big things like winning,” Wolfe said. “Since day one we’ve been improving as a team, we’ll notice changes in the win loss column.”

Senior running back and defensive lineman Bryant Griffin said he is feeling the pressure of the game due to its impact on the season.

“There’s a lot of pressure because I can’t remember the last time we won a homecoming game,” said Griffin. “I think we can come out with a victory.”
