7,000 yard practices, 2,000 yard warm-ups, 6 a.m. morning practices Tuesday, Friday and Saturday all in preparation for their next meet.

With a 2-1 record so far in the season, the fifth meet for the Girls’ Swimming team approaches against Chanhassen, head coach Joe Yaeger is confident with how the meet will turn out.

Yaeger said this will be the first time the team will be competing against Chanhassen because of the new conference.

“We never swam against Chanhassen, but in terms of rivalry, it is not as big as it is with Benilde,” Yaeger said.

Yaeger said his prediction for the meet will foreshadow the rest of the season .

“Hopefully we will win with the new conference. I don’t know a lot about the team, but my expectations are that the girls will swim well and hopefully we can pull off a win,” Yaeger said.

Yaeger said the team is almost guaranteed a win and that that will help them with the season.

“The win will just be another stepping stone to what hopefully will end up being a great season and a top three record in our conference,” Yaeger said.

Senior Varsity swimmer, Meagan Hein said she is unsure as to what this meet will bring to the team.

“It will be a challenge since we have never swam against them before but it is still early in the season and we don’t really know what strong swimmers they have,” Hein said.

Hein said even though it might be a hard meet, her prediction is that they will win because of their previous successful meets.

“We can win, we had a really strong meet against Chaska so I think we will do even better,” Hein said.

Yaeger said his strongest swimmers are the senior class as a whole in all of the events.

The team will be competing against Chanhassen at 6 p.m. on Oct. 2 at the High School pool.
