Team hoping to succeed in last two games as sections approach
As the boys’ hockey team faces its last two games of the season head coach Shjon Podein said he feels the team is prepared for sections, but he said first they needs to focus on finishing the season well.
The team plays the Minneapolis Novas Feb. 14 at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center and face off against Robbinsdale Cooper Feb. 16 at the New Hope Ice Arena.
Podien said he is confident in the team’s ability to play with both opponents, and he said they will continue to practice hard in order to be competitive.
“We are working on skill development in practice. We continue to push each day to be a stronger and better team,” Podien said.
Senior goaltender Ryan Froom said the team is excited for senior night Feb. 14 and is hoping to start a winning streak going into sections.
“We are not quite ready for sections yet. we need to build up our confidence first,” Froom said. “These last two games will give us the confidence we need to be successful.”
