According to Junior McCabe Dvorak, he took over the boys’ hockey instagram account because he wanted to give followers an inside look of the Park hockey team.

“Before the season I asked if I could run it because I feel like I could put more on it and show more and behind the scenes stuff,” Dvorak said.

According to Dvorak, he took over the account, called @slpboyshockey  from sophomore Robert Perelman’s mom.

Junior Alanna Franklin said she enjoys to see updates about the team and has friends on both teams she wants to support.

“I have lots of friends on the JV team and varsity team. I thought it would be cool to support them and it’s nice to know what’s going on,” Franklin said.

According to sophomore Ben Olson, the account’s content is humorous and notifies its followers basic information about each hockey game.

“I think the interviews are funny and then I like the pre-game post and saying where it is and what time it is,” Olson said.

Dvorak said posting on Instagram informs students about their games and encourages more fans to come out and support the team.

“I wouldn’t say (if) there’s any benefits, I feel like it helps the team a lot. Just spreading the word on how we’re doing and what’s going on and keeping people updated,” Dvorak said.

According to Franklin, she’s seen an increase in  people showing up to hockey games since Dvorak took over the account.

“It spreads awareness about their games and I noticed there’s a lot more people at the games this year compared to the past,” Franklin said.
