The new “It” sequel is set 27 years after the events of the first movie. The movie is quite intriguing in the way it uses characters and their backstories. The main plot of this movie is how the older characters deal with the resurgence of Pennywise.

As a person who has seen the original movie, I understand what was going on, but had I been a viewer who first watched “IT Chapter Two, you may be puzzled at certain points in the film and you may be extremely lost during the film.

I feel as though the movie could have added more to the creative side. “IT Chapter Two” felt as if it was a copy-paste of the original “IT” but with adult characters. It seems almost as though the writers ran out of ideas for original content. Most of the intentionally scary parts felt lacking and not as scary as the original “IT”.

I myself was not impressed by the pace of the entire movie, it felt as if I was being rushed through an experience that I never got to fully understand.

In some areas of the movie, I was at a loss for words on what was going on in and how those events would affect the plot or characters. he movie seemed a bit shallow in its use of characters, in the first movie the characters didn’t seem to do anything different and are just adult-sized versions of the original. I did enjoy the score of the movie, I feel the filmmakers spent ample time working on the music and background and it all seemed to fit together.

All in all, “IT Chapter Two” doesn’t compare to the original movie. The director and writers to fit to much information and backstory into a film that is three hours long and the end result is a horror film that’s not scary, has a weak plot and no character development which leaves the viewer wanting more.
