Another fantastic season of “All American” was released May 23. It’s emotional, addictive and never runs out of stories to tell. Most shows have multiple seasons where the plot or objective of the story dies out, but “All American” proves otherwise.

The actors were fantastic — they knew where to put their emotions throughout their characters. Olivia Baker (Samantha Logan) goes through a lot within each season and most fans can see that. Samantha really puts out a voice most TV shows are missing and I love that about her.

The clothing showed a personality for each character that wore it. For example, Tamia Cooper’s (Bre-Z) clothes that yell out that she’s proud, respectful and definitely in the music industry. She knows to put in a show and just by the way she’s dressed you can see that much. My favorite outfit would have been for Layla Keating (Greta Onieogou) because she’s a business woman and her pantsuit — and her wardrobe in general — is really beautiful.

As for the soundtrack, it’s just been the same since the previous seasons, but with Patience (Chelsea Tavares) becoming an aspiring artist, more music is coming onto the table. It’s the same with Layla Keating (Greta Onieogou), her career is more about showing her gift as a producer and helping out artists who look forward to becoming an all-time singer/rapper, putting her trust and belief so she’s able to push them through.

This season of “All American” is about evolving into each character’s life from juniors in high school to freshmen in college. Whether it’s through college sports or majors like journalism and coaching, the show lets us in on the charcters’ growth. I believe that as a growing show for each season there’s always growth and maturity in each person.

There’s another show called “All American: Homecoming” in a break between season three, when Simone Hicks (Geffri Hightower) gets into college with a tennis scholarship. So when “All American: Homecoming Season 2” came out it was matched with “All American” seasons four and five. Simone is the main character of “All American: Homecoming” and it shows her struggles and friendships in college.

Overall, “All American” season 5 was such a great show, I really recommend it for those who are looking for more teen shows to watch or more sports related shows.
