“Good Burger 2” was released Nov. 22,“Good Burger 2” follows the journey of Dexter and Ed as they find themselves facing a new challenge at their beloved Good Burger restaurant. When a rival fast food chain threatens to take over, our dynamic duo, along with their quirky friends, embark on a mission to save their burger joint. The movie didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The movie tried to recapture the magic of the original, but it falls flat in many ways. The first movie was a nationwide hit that everyone loved. It had a great story overall and funny jokes that had everyone laughing, so I hoped the sequel could live up to the expectations.

The comedy in “Good Burger 2” also misses the mark. Kenan Thommpson and Kel Mitchell, who were hilarious in the first movie, had many forced jokes that just didn’t make me laugh. The jokes feel stale and repetitive and I found myself barely laughing the whole movie, even though it’s a comedy. There were some funny moments here and there, but it’s like they were trying too hard to recreate the magic of the original. It just didn’t work. There were many interactions that were cringe and I felt that they were not funny at all. Overall the jokes in this movie were very corny and it just didn’t feel the same having a great old film but this one not living up to expectations.

The best part of the movie were all these very popular and unexpected faces that were seen in the movie. Some of the big faces that you see in the movie are Rob Gronkowski, Mark Cuban, Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg and Kai Cenat. They all have little to no screen time, but it was very cool and unexpected to see all the familiar faces in the movie. I wish they would’ve included these people more in the movie instead of showing them in a couple of scenes. I feel like that would have made the movie much more entertaining and watchable.

Despite these criticisms, I do want to acknowledge the effort put into creating “Good Burger 2”. The time and effort to try and recreate the first movie just wasn’t there and unfortunately they weren’t able to bring back the magic that the first movie had with all the great jokes, entertaining songs and good character development.

But perhaps the biggest disappointment was the lack of character development. Dexter and Ed, who were so loveable and relatable in the first movie, felt one dimensional in the sequel. Their friendship wasn’t explored further and I didnt feel as invested in their journey. It’s like they were just going through the motions without any real growth or depth.

Overall, “Good Burger 2” did not capture the charm and magic of the original. The plot felt recycled, the comedy fell flat and the character lacked depth. It’s a forgettable sequel that fails to live up to its predecessor. If you’re a die hard fan of the first movie, you might find some enjoyment seeing familiar faces, but for everyone else, I’d say skip this one. There are plenty of other comedies out there that will actually make you laugh and enjoy the movie.
