As the school year comes to an end, Echowan’s staff doesn’t slow down, according to junior Madeline Djerf.

Djerf, the yearbook’s editor in chief for next year, said the minor and major staffers for the upcoming year come together to work on the spring supplement, which is a 16-page spread dedicated to spring sports, plays and clubs.

“Not only is the the spring supplement a great way for new staffers to get acquainted with Echowan and yearbook journalism, but it gives next year’s major staffers the chance to learn their new role,” Djerf said.

Sophomore Megan Aune, a new writer for Echowan, said working on the spring supplement gives both the major staffers and the minor staffers a learning opportunity.

“The mentors actually helped us a lot and taught us how the stories should look and sound,” Aune said.

Djerf said working on the yearbook now will increase efficiency and knowledge of the yearbook for next year.

“With their work on the supplement it will make the first package next year much easier because the new staffers with have some experience under their belt,” Djerf said.

This year’s yearbook will be distributed on May 27 during all four lunches.
