For the robotics club, the excitement of competition is over. Now, they are reflecting on the past year and preparing for the next season.

Looking over the past year of personal highs, senior captain Francis Thelen recognizes this year as an exceptional one.

“The robot (for competition) was the highlight of the year. It’s the most put together we’ve had in four years,” Thelen said.

Now that the school season is over, Thelen is getting ready to pass the reigns to the new club captains for next year, Paul Frederichsen and Clara Slade.

“They were chosen because they are experienced and know the skills needed for this club,” said Thelen.

But the year isn’t over for the club members. They will continue to work periodically through the summer.

“We’ll come in (during the summer) to finish up the year and prepare for next year. We’re trying to get more sponsors for next year,” Thelen said.
