While Senior Totaram Brijmohan and fellow Park Tech members work on computers, other members work to increase the clubs name and credibility.

As junior Amanda Erdmann starts her first year as a Park Tech member, she said she hopes Park Tech can gain more respect and credibility from the student body and faculty through apparel.

For the apparel, Erdmann said she used a painting inside the club’s room as the inspiration. She said she hopes once students see members with apparel, they will take the club more seriously.

“I want people to see us as a team and trusting us more,” Erdmann said. “We want to be perceived as professionals, not just teenagers whacking at your computer.”

Park Tech adviser Jacob Utities said having more people in the club helps boost professionalism.

“We have have more people to do things, so more things can get done,” Utities said. “Now there are so many kids that I’m trying to find tasks for everyone to do, instead of the other way around.”

Utities also said members may want to purchase apparel in order to create a sense of community in the club.

“I think the shirts would help with professionalism, but also it is for the kids to have something to call their own,” Utities said. “It’s the same thing as students wearing letterman’s jackets showing the sports they participate in. These kids just want to show where they belong and what group they are part of.”
