German and French begin monthly movie activity

According to German teacher Frau Fox and French teacher Madame Conrad, a French teacher, students are always looking for an entertaining way to supplement their learning. They believe they have found an answer.

Fox and Conrad have set out to create a German and French international film club that will meet once every month.

“Kids love to see foreign movies and they always ask to see more, so we decided to host a foreign movie night,” Fox said.

The first movie premiered Oct. 11. Not as many students attended as Fox would have hoped, but she ascribes this to the many Fall sports that students are involved in. So, she has hopes for better attendance in the future.

Fox said German and French students are not the only ones who may come to the movie night. They are for everyone who enjoys foreign films.

“I have talked with the IB film teacher, who is encouraging students to attend the movie nights to experience foreign films and foreign directors,” Fox said.

Junior Elliot Slade is a student in both IB Film and German. He thinks that movie nights is a good idea.

“I would be interested in going but i am just really busy,” Slade said.

Fox said that the movie nights are not exclusive to just IB Film and German students.

“Subtitles  will be available to those who need them,” Fox said. “Movies are always for fun with friends.”
