Substitute custodian pleads guilty

The trial of substitute custodian Fasel Mohamed Ali began April 19, according to Hennepin County Attorney’s Office media coordinator Chuck Laszewski.

Laszewski said Ali pleaded guilty to 5th degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to Laszewski, Ali will be sentenced August 11.

Laszewski said the separate trial of middle school instructional assistant Jarrell Smith is set for May 31.
