As the school year comes to a close, Kirsten Albright and other senior parents help plan the senior all-night party for the graduating class.

“I enjoy being a part of a great community of parents and volunteers,” Albright said. “Once your kids hit high school, there’s not that many opportunities to be as engaged and as part of that experience they have, so this is just a great way to help out and bring to life something that we hope will be a fantastic celebration.”

Senior Ethan Fogel said he is excited to be with his graduating class one last time.

“I think it’s going to be really fun and I get one last chance to be around all my peers, even the ones that I might not hang out with as much. I get to see them one last time,” Fogel said.

Albright said many of the activities at the senior all-night party are supposed to be a surprise.

“Some of it is supposed to be a secret, that’s part of it,” Albright said. “One huge thing I can tell you is there are over $12,000 in prizes that we’re giving away, including a laptop, a TV, and thousands of dollars of gift cards. Basically every senior will leave with a meaningful gift of some kind.”

Albright said the party celebrates the seniors’ accomplishments and brings them together as one unit.

“We wanted this to be an event that would bring together the entire class and the chance for them to celebrate everything that they’ve accomplished. (It’s supposed) to be an evening where there’s no bonds, no cliques (and) everyone is just one cohesive group,” Albright said.

Albright said she wants seniors to know everyone is welcome to the party, regardless if they can pay the $90 fee.

“We wanted to be sure kids knew that finances were not a barrier. If anyone wants to come, we want them to regardless (of) whether they can pay that fee or not. We’re hopeful it’s a wonderful night and we’re proud of the kids and we’re excited to help them celebrate,” Albright said.

The senior all-night party will take place after graduation June 8 at the Rec Center. Busing will be provided to seniors from graduation to the Rec Center. To register, go to the student office or sign up at www.slpseniorparty.com.
