Junior Sophia Davenport, whose car was drawn on with removable marker and covered in plastic wrap by seniors during fourth hour May 24, said she found the prank amusing.

“They said ‘long live class of ‘18,’ they said ‘xoxo seniors’ and then…there were profanities,” Davenport said.

According to Principal Scott Meyers, no clear-cut policy exists that the administration follows to punish students involved in senior pranks, but they do not condone them or senior skip day.

Junior Caitlin Arf said the senior prank was more of an inconvenience than anything else.

“It’s not that big of a deal to me, I’ve always thought of senior pranks as something that’s funny for students and maybe annoying to teachers or staff, and these are more of just annoying to everyone,” Arf said.

Junior Leila Raymond said she did not mind the prank because it caused no permanent damage.

“I didn’t really see it as a big deal,” Raymond said. “The marker comes off really easily and it wasn’t that much of a bother.”

Davenport said she doesn’t think seniors crossed the line by drawing on and covering cars with plastic wrap.

“I thought it was all fine, it wasn’t anything that you couldn’t get rid of,” Davenport said. “I think (senior pranks) are funny and as long as nothing is actually damaged, they’re fine.”

Raymond said she believes the prank was well-intended.

“I don’t really care about the seniors drawing on my car,” Raymond said. “I think they went into the prank with good intentions.”

According to Arf, no permanent damage was done to her car, but the prank made it unsafe to drive.

“I just got a car wash so it was fine, but I had to clean it before I could drive it (because I couldn’t see)”

Custodians who were involved in the cleaning process during fifth hour declined to comment.
