Students return to school

First week festivities include Pep fest, carnival

  • Sisters senior Lily Rostal and freshman Stella Rostal compete in the sibling competition at the first day of school Pep fest. The competition included a relay race featuring wrapping their sibling with ribbon, fishing for gummy worms out of cool whip and playing catch with tennis balls.

  • Teachers dance to the Cha-Cha Slide at the Pep fest Sept. 3. The show was put on for incoming freshmen and returning students.

  • Juniors Marissa Boettcher, Hannah Howell and Selee Olmen take a selfie during lunch. First day activities allowed students to reconnect with each other after summer break.

  • Counselor Kelly Brown and social worker Marlee Nirenstein serve pizza to students during lunch on the first day of school. Students enjoyed Papa Johns and Parkway pizza for free.

  • Senior Mitchell VonEschen plays chess in the LMC during the carnival. Other activities were scattered around the school building, as well as outside.

  • Sophomores Maya Frank and Lilia Gonzalez draw in coloring books with markers. Multiple tables with coloring sheets and chess boards were set up for students in the LMC during the carnival.

  • Student advocate Christopher Weaver spins cotton candy for students. Multiple stations were set up around the school offering treats including cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn.
