How often do you visit Japan?
I went to go see my grandparents. I get to go see them every two years or so.

What did you do while you were in Japan?
I stayed in Tokyo with my grandparents for three weeks. I wandered around Tokyo on my own and had different places and stores to go to. I also went camping in the mountains with some of my friends. We just got together camping and all connected again.

What made this trip unique?
I went without parents this time. I’ve been going to Japan to visit my grandparents since I was a little kid.

What’s it like attending a Japanese school?
I’ve attended a Japanese school for three to four years. I mainly learned the language and am now sort of fluent.

How often did you attend?
I went once a week for an hour every time. It wasn’t really a school but I mainly learned how to speak the language and more about the culture.
Why do think it’s important to speak Japanese or another language?
It’s important because you get to talk to more people in the world and it can help you later on in life.

What makes Japan so different from the United States?
It’s a different country and a different culture. Mainly it’s just the language that is different, but the pop culture is similar. I would love to go back someday.  However, some of the food, such as sushi, is pretty similar to the USA.
