As the season starts to pass its halfway mark the girls volleyball team shows no sign of slowing down.

The team participated in the homecoming parade and won in their home game against Cooper Thursday, September 11th.  So far the girls have won two of the 11 games and tournaments they’ve played, but hope to turn the rest of the season around.

Kali Vinson, a captain of the girls volleyball team, said she believes the team is bonding and working together.

“We’ve been working really well together which should give us an edge in our upcoming games,” Vinson said.

The team has been focusing a lot on the fundamentals lately.

“We’ve been breaking down the basic skills so it’s become natural,” Vinson said.

Halfway into the season some players can get fatigued and tired of the sport but not Jaelyn Carroll.

Jaelyn Carroll,  a sophomore and middle blocker for the girls varsity team, said she is excited for the upcoming games.

“I’m looking forward to the six games left in the season, seven including sections,” Carroll said.

The girls next game is  Sept. 29 against St. Paul Central.
