Park’s ultimate team defeated Armstrong 15-4 on Thursday May 18.

Coach Spencer Hagen said he was glad to see the team’s hard work in practice pay off on the field.

“We played really well and did a nice job using the things we’ve been working on in practice with offense,” Hagen said. “We utilized the whole field and that definitely showed in the game today.”

Although the team had to cope with injuries, senior captain Micah Davis says he looks forward to everyone being healthy enough to play in the next game.

“We had a lot of injured players today,” Davis said. “Making sure everyone’s taking care of themselves is really important.”

Senior Andrew Yakes said that next time he needs to focus on aim, especially in the wind.

“Next time, I need to focus on improving my throws,” Yakes said. “My aim was off today, and I need to focus on accuracy, especially when the wind is difficult to deal with.”

Hagen said that despite the team’s win, the defense at the beginning of the game was not as good as he had hoped.

“There isn’t much I would have done differently, and overall, (the game) went really well,” Hagen said. “I would say that our defense was a little sloppy at first, so I would have liked to have played it up from the beginning.”

Davis said he was proud of how he and his team played, but next time he hopes there is better communication.

“Everyone played very competitively throughout the game, which led to a really good win,” Davis said. “But we can work on talking from the sidelines more and making sure we’re communicating with our teammates throughout the entire game.”

Crush has its next game at 7:30 p.m. on May 26 against Andover at the St. Louis Park High School Stadium.
