Although Park football put up a strong fight from start to finish, in the end they fell to St. Anthony Village in the highest attended game so far this season.

With touchdowns from senior tight end Henry Albrecht and senior running back Bryant Griffin as well as an interception by senior linebacker Daniel Foltz, the Orioles kept it a very competitive game in the first half coming out with the score tied 13-13.

While St. Anthony Village ended up pulling away with a 26-13 victory, according to senior captain quarterback and safety Quinn Livdahl who threw for a touchdown and two interceptions, but caught another interception on the defensive end, the game was theirs to win.

“We definitely beat ourselves with penalties,” Livdahl said, “We were definitely the better team we just didn’t show it.”

Griffin sees both success and disappointment in final Homecoming game

It’s been a tradition for senior captain Bryant Griffin to take his helmet home to be washed before every game. This past Thursday, he did it for the final time before a Homecoming matchup.

According to head coach Ben Wolfe and the other senior captains, Griffin plays a large role on the team acting as both a starting running back and defensive lineman. He was able to score one of Park’s two touchdowns during the game.

“Bryant’s a great and tough kid and one of our best leaders,” Wolfe said. “He puts in a lot of effort on and off of the field.”

With six minutes left in the third quarter Griffin sprained his achilles tendon and was helped off the field by his fellow teammates. But despite the fact that he was injured, Griffin was willing and able to go back into the game for the sake of representing his team.

“It’s the love for the game,” Griffin said. “I just don’t want to give up on my team.”
