Park football practiced its teamwork and defeated DeLaSalle High School  with a final score of 41-0, improving their record to 3-4.

Senior Jacob Brown said the team worked well as a community which helped them become victorious.

“We played as a good cohesive unit all four quarters,” Brown said. “We played our hearts out and it paid off because we won by a large amount.”

After multiple injuries occurred, coach Ben Wolfe said he is proud of how the team reacted.

“A (player) had a seizure and the team responded very well. We covered for him and gave it our all, never letting ourselves miss a beat,” Wolfe said.

According to junior McCabe Dvorak, part of the win came from the team’s previous interaction with the opposing teams.

“We played well, we know our competitor well so we put that into our strategy,” Dvorak said.
According to Wolfe, the team will continue working to improve the cohesiveness it displayed during the game.

“I’m very proud of how they took action,” Wolfe said. “We will constantly be working during practice so we can play as one.”

After winning the game, Brown said he is ready to work harder in practice and develop a stronger bond with the team.

“The way our team worked tonight to be victorious made me want to do more team bonding both inside and outside of practice,” Brown said.

The next Park football game will be against Bloomington Jefferson 7 p.m. Oct.16 at the Oriole Stadium.
