Despite the loss of its first two games, the boys’ lacrosse team has managed to turn things around, evening out its record to 2-2.

The team started out their season with two losses to Bloomington Jefferson and Orono.

Senior captain Colin Monicatti said he thinks the challenging teams they faced in the beginning of the season made it difficult for the new team to win, however they are growing in experience.

“It didn’t help that we got scheduled to play some of the hardest teams in the beginning of the season, but it’s slowly coming together,” Monicatti said. “There have been some rough patches so far, but things are clicking with the team.”

Following these first two games, the team was successful in beating Monticello and Minnehaha Academy.

Head coach Kevin Reed said he is confident despite the slow start because the team is tough and will keep playing hard despite recent losses.

“The thing I like about St. Louis Park lacrosse is that they grind it out,” Reed said. “A lot of teams aren’t tough and I coach a bunch of hard working players who love the game.”

The team plays its next game against Hutchinson at 6 p.m. on May 4 at Hutchinson High School.
