Hoping to do better this season, the girls’ basketball team is playing its season with improved teamwork and Training from the offseason.

The team had a tournament over winter break at which it lost both of its games at the Tournament in Fergus falls Dec. 27 and 28.

According to Junior Addy May Perkins even though the girls lost both of their games they still kept playing hard through them both with the demoralizing score.

“We played through the game and did not give up,” Perkins said.

Coach Tim Sension said he thinks his team played well even though it experienced tough losses.

“Even though we had bad results we played well,” Sension

The team has been playing non-conference games so far, meaning that the games that they have been playing do not affect their chances to make their section or win conference.

Even with the recent losses Perkins said the team would officially be starting their conference games over the next few weeks, with its first one against Columbia Heights Jan. 17.

“It’s nice starting our conference games and being able to start on a good note,” Perkins said.

Sension also said he is excited  for their conference games so the team can start on a clean slate.

“I’m really looking forward to the games,” Sension said. “We have no great teams in our conference. We’ll do well.”
