When Deca had its grand opening Monday of homecoming week, many students and teachers visited the store, according to Deca adviser Sophia Ross.

Deca social media manager senior Ian Juaire said the amount of people who visit the school store amazes him.

“I was surprised with the amounts of students and faculty that came in. I honestly did not think that there was going to be so many people coming in and out of the store,” Juaire said. “As far as sales, teachers have dominated most of the time but students are increasingly buying more and more each week.”

Deca adviser Sophia Ross said she noticed so far that teachers visit the school store more often compared to the students.

“We’ve had a ton of staff support downstairs and I would say staff is probably about 65 percent our client base,” Ross said. “When we’re talking about how much income we bring in, sales, I would say most of that come from the staff here at the school.”

Storiole manager senior Noah Smith said Deca is working on getting more students to purchase class t-shirts by giving out free bag of chips.

“A lot of people come in to buy snacks and we’re working towards getting more people, and we’re doing a promotion right now with class t-shirts,” Smith said. “We want kids to come in and buy t-shirts for Homecoming.”

Ross said she hopes to have more students support the Storiole throughout the year.

“I’m really hoping that students come down and support the school store, because it is run by students and they choose us to give their Park pride merchandise to show their spirit,” Ross said.
