Welcome to “Cut Through the Noise,” an entertainment column for the St. Louis Park Echo covering new music releases. Every week, a different Echo staffer takes on the role of writer, receiving recent single releases from various artists.

“Love Me To Heaven” – Jonas Brothers ★★★★☆
“Love Me To Heaven,” sung by the Jonas Brothers, was released March 21 and combines a mid-tempo pop track with a dreamy vibe. The song puts out the message of being completely lost in love, which makes this song a great choice for people who prefer sentimentally uplifting songs. Something that I loved about this song was the energy because it seems like a very fun pop song that is easy to sing and dance along to. While it does not have the biggest energetic beat drop, it still has a very fun beat to listen to and fun instrumental music as well. I could tell that there was a mixture of guitar, drums and vocals that help you jam out to this song. Although this was a great song overall and pleasant to listen to, I wish there could have been more of a drastic beat drop because I think it could have made this song even more fun. This particular song reminded me of music from artists like Shawn Mendes or Harry Styles due to the softer and more mature sounds, but also a song with a very pop, sing-along vibe. I overall loved how easy this song was to sway and vibe with, it was very smooth and I can tell this is going to be a great pop hit.
“I’m A Little Crazy” – Morgan Wallen ★★★★☆

“I’m A Little Crazy” by Morgan Wallen is a song that leans more on the country vibe, containing guitar and deeply sung vocals. Some other popular songs by Morgan Wallen are “Whiskey Glasses” and “Last Night.” While this song has similar aspects to some of Wallen’s other songs, this song gives a clearer message of being a misunderstood outcast, repeating the lyric “I’m a little crazy” throughout the song and finishing with the lyric “but the world’s insane.” This shows that while people may be different, the whole world is crazy and people should not be afraid to show their true personality and feelings. This song was great to listen to and would be amazing to listen to in the background while doing another task or during a car ride. In a way, with the calming vocal and steady tempo, this song made me feel relaxed. Another great lyric from this song was “Oh, once you get to know me I’m a coyote in a field of wolves” This lyric once again shows how sometimes we feel outcast if we are different, but we need to remember that it can be a good thing. There was a lot of emotion and passion put into this song. This song would be great for people who like country music with a deeper meaning that is clear in every lyric of the song.

“What Could Go Right” – Thomas Rhett & Lanie Gardner ★★★★☆
“What Could Go Right” by Thomas Rhett and Lanie Gardner is a song featuring two amazing voices and a great rhythm. At the start of the song, I was not sure if I would like it or not simply due to the slower tempo and more country-like lyrics sung by Thomas Rhett, but once I got deeper into the song, there were parts where Rhett and Gardner would harmonize and it sounded so good. The tempo of this song was on the slower side but the vocals of the singers made up for that. I liked the title of this song “What Could Go Right” because it changes up the popular saying “what could go wrong” which is said so often. The song follows two people who go from just being friends to starting an actual relationship, and the whole song is about how instead of thinking about what could go wrong, they should start looking on the brighter side of things about everything that could work out and go right. Lanie Gardner is the featured artist in this song, and she and Thomas Rhett both have amazing voices that work super well together, so I was happy that she got picked to be in this song. Overall, I would rate this song four stars because the harmonizing and vocals are amazing, although it does have a slower start and some of the lyrics could be confusing at times.
