‘A Good Person,’ was Inspirational

A powerful movie full of redemption

“A Good Person” was an incredible story, filled with heartbreak, pain, loss and forgiveness. We see a lot in this movie about how people deal with their grief and how it brings out the worst in them — and how they try to cope with it. This movie was directed by Zach Braff, and the main characters that we see in this movie are Daniel (Morgan Freeman) and Allison played by Florence Pugh as well as a variety of supporting actors.

This movie follows Allison, who just got  engaged, doing great at work and finding happiness, when out of nowhere gets in a horrible car accident. The events lead to Allison learning how to fight through struggle, grief and pain. With unresolved pain, that leads to an addiction with opioids and she learns how to overcome these issues that she faces with the help of familiar faces.

This movie was very sad and powerful. We see a lot of vulnerability in this movie from our main characters that lead them to want to be better human beings — but having to make hard choices to make that progress. This can move a lot of people who are in those places of struggle. Whether it be depression or addiction, it’s better to take those steps forward, and that’s what I believe this movie is trying to bring out which is very impactful. By also bringing these really hard subjects like addiction, grief and pain that a lot of people face in their lives and just being able to relate and get hope from this movie.

I also thought the acting was amazing. These actors, especially from the characters of Allison and Daniel, give out so much emotion and vulnerability through their acting and I just think it was done to perfection. Also, the plot overall is a good and easy one because of how they set up the movie, which led up to these characters’ issues with immediate conflict to create the plot of this movie. The acting and narration that comes out of Morgan Freeman was just phenomenal.

Overall, I thought this was a really good movie. I loved the acting, the plot and overall the whole message of the movie. This movie can really move people and help to understand these subjects that are so hard on people and could maybe get something out of watching this movie. I would highly recommend you watch this, I had no prior knowledge of what this movie was or about but I’m really glad I got to see it. However,  it wasn’t a perfect movie for me, like I probably wouldn’t watch it again because I personally don’t enjoy watching these films multiple times and it puts me in a sad mood. Which might not be the case for you, but for me it does.
