Senior Megan Aune shows off her Nalgene water bottle with stickers from a vacation to Alaska.

Walking through the halls of Park, it’s hard not to notice someone with a Nalgene water bottle decorated with various stickers, according to senior Megan Aune. Echo decided to look into this trend and interview students who own these water bottles with stickers.

Megan Aune, senior

Why do you like Nalgene water bottles?

I think they are very durable, if I drop it, I don’t have to worry about it getting a crack in it.

Why do you decorate yours with stickers?

I decorate mine with stickers from Alaska because I went there this summer and it’s like my souvenir I got.

Where do you get the stickers from?

All the ports I stopped at (in Alaska).

Why do you think these water bottles are so popular among students?

Being healthy and drinking water all of the time is kind of a thing and I think people like the stickers because they can express their personality.

Sam Sietsema, freshman

Why do you like Nalgene water bottles?

They are easy to use and to transport. They’re cute too.

Why do you decorate yours with stickers?

To express myself, and because it looks better than a plain water bottle.

Where do you get the stickers from?

Local artists and preservation sites. I have a sticker of the Great Lakes and 75% of the profit went to preserving the lakes.

Why do you think these water bottles are so popular among students?

Kids like to drink water, and it’s fun to show off a little personality with that.
