For those with an extra creative flair, 36 Arts provides an outlet for students.

At their first meeting, the club members decided that this year would mark the beginning of new art forms, new events and most importantly new members. Club member Katie Peterson said she is most looking forward to new ideas that people can bring into the club.

“I really hope we have a lot of new members who bring new ideas to the club and new art,” said Peterson. “We would love to see more sculptures, photography, origami and other physical types of art”.

Club advisor Chris Nordmark said he also hopes that the year brings many student lead changes and exciting new activities.

“It’s up to the students what the club does, but were hoping to have more art displays, art sharing and of course the 36 Arts magazine”.

Club member Rachel Potter agreed, saying that the club is looking to add even more new ways of sharing art, including a short story contest sometime during the year. However, she said these ideas would work better with more art submissions.

“Anyone in the school can submit their art or ideas,” she said. “You don’t need to be part of the club, we just want to have people share their art.”

The club plans on meeting informally throughout the school year before school on Thursday’s in Nordmarks room, C376.
