Although at a typical auction people bid on cars, artwork and other valuables, students at Park JSU came together at their last meeting for a value action, where they bid on intrinsic aspects of their lives.

Rabbi Tzvi Kupfer, director of Minneapolis JSU and leader of the group’s meeting, said he wanted to give students a forum for discussing their values with others.

“I wanted to allow all the students a way to show where their values lie and how they prioritize the importance of different things in life,” Kupfer said.

Sophomore Raphy Gendler, a second-year member of JSU, said the activity was a helpful way to self-reflect.

“I thought this activity was a good way to do a self-reflection on what we find to be most important to all of us in life,” Gendler said.

According to sophomore Sam Orloff, the President of JSU at Park, the club aims to give people a way to think about their values in a new way.

“People often don’t take the time to reflect and the point of this activity was to allow students to do just that,” Orloff said.

The group’s next meeting is from 3:20 to 4:00 p.m. on January 22 in room B134. Complimentary sushi and cookies are provided. All are welcome and encouraged to come.
