Jewish Student Union adviser loves what he does

Tzvi Kupfer advises the Jewish Student Union and even after three years, he said he still enjoys coming and talking to the students.
Kupfer said he loves bringing positive messages to students about Judaism.
“Talking to students always makes my day better; knowing I can come talk to bright kids about Judaism and other issues pertaining to that topic,” Kupfer said.
Kupfer said he also functions as the local director for NCSY, a national Jewish youth organization. NCSY runs JSU, he said, with 20 clubs in Minnesota and 500 others across the country.
According to Kupfer, he really values JSU because it’s an organization that enlighten students to be more aware of their religion.
“It encourages students to discuss different perspectives students in private and public schools could have being Jewish and it’s great to talk about especially with really bright kids, Kupfer said.
President Max Segal said he appreciates Kupfer’s same enthusiasm as when he first started JSU.
“It’s refreshing to see him every Thursday and know he’ll still be just as happy to be at the meetings even when he first started as our main leader,” Segal said.
According to Kupfer, this club is not strictly for Jewish students.
He said it’s nice to have students of other religion come to the meetings.
“It’s a good time to discuss anything pertaining religion or not pertaining religion. It’s a way for students to learn something new about themselves and others as well,” Kupfer said.
The next meeting will take place Dec. 3 after school in room B134.
