Looking for a head start, senior Ruchamah Borg said she got an internship for the group StandWithUs.

“I am an intern for an organization called “StandWithUs’ and I was nominated by a friend who used to be an intern,” Borg said.

According to Borg, the organization focuses on educating others about the issues in Israel and how to improve as people.

“StandWithUs’ is an Israel advocacy organization that has a high school section of interns and my role is to educate other high schools about it,” Borg said.

Borg said her mission as an intern is to better improve Israel advocacy club.

“The high school intern goal is that I have a minimum of four events to plan throughout the year and the Israel Advocacy Club soldiers event was one that I helped plan,” Borg said.

Borg said the internship experience has helped her become more proper and manageable in the way she gives her opinions along with learning more about efforts in Israel.

“We had a conference on Aug. 6-10 in Los Angeles and they gave us a lot of info not only on Israel but how to deal with opposing views as we get older and as we go to college,” Borg said.

Borg said she feels she has come far and developed as a person in her time being an intern.

“I already see a difference on how I address other people’s opinions and views and thoughts and values and think of it in a different way now,” Borg said.

Borg said plans for the future include a new meeting for a club she takes part in.

“We have monthly meetings with our midwest coordinator who coming to Minnesota next week for our Jewish Student Union club to talk with us,” Borg said.
