As the bleachers filled up with friends and family, students dressed in gowns and caps waited patiently to receive their diploma, a task many believed to only dream of.

The graduation ceremony was on June 10, 2014 at the football field.

Assistant principal ScottMeyers said he believes this class possesses certain traits setting them apart from previous years for this class knows how to balance them.

“I think this class has a very nice balance of persistence and kindness which I think is a good combination because if you have too much of one or the other, it sometimes can get in your way,” Meyers said.

While some graduates may already have sought time to try and find where their life leads them next, others like Benjamin Altman said he still is not sure about what he is doing now that he is out of highschool.

“[I am still] figuring out what to do with the rest of my life,” Altman said.

By leaving a school and district one is accustomed to, graduate and valedictorian Caitlin Glennon said she believes she will miss the people most of all for she grew up with them.

“You get to know everyone over the course of your four years or 12 years or how ever long you spend here and it’s going to be hard not to see people in the hallway next year,” Glennon said.

Meyers said he wishes the graduates apply what they learned and experienced at Park in college and everyday life by sharing it with everyone.

“I would just hope that they take their experiences here at St. Louis Park and make them gifts for the other people they meet along the way and offer them their knowledge not only of schoolwork but just in life and to share it with the world,” Meyers said.
