No lockdown in response to Byerly’s
February 3, 2015
Earlier today an armed police SWAT team was called to the St. Louis Park Byerly’s to respond to an as-of-yet unconfirmed shooter, according to KARE 11 news. Police have blocked off the building and escorted shoppers out. The situation is ongoing and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s office is asking residents to stay away from the area.
St. Louis Park schools will not be changing their daily security routines in response to the situation, according to Superintendent Rob Metz.
“There will be no security change in the building,” Metz said. “We are in contact with the police department. They will let us know if we need to be concerned.”
The Echo is still investigating the issue.
