Senior All Night Party makes improvements

Plan takes positive step in the right direction

There are many milestones every student hopes to achieve senior year, including senior dress codes, senior skip day and the Senior All Night Party. When watching previous seniors countdown the weeks toward graduation, I saw many speak about how exhilarated they were to attend the Senior All Night Party. Throughout my senior year I always aspired to attend as well, but this year the party has drastically changed.

Some of the major changes include a decrease in price, change in location and change in venue. This makes the senior party more worth it. The price is dropping from the original $75 to $50. The location is moving from the Recreational Center (Rec Center) to the Bowlero in Eden Prairie. Finally, tweaks to the venue will be made based on what is offered by the new location and the planned budget for the party according to Joanne Bongarts the graduation celebration event chair coordinator

The price decrease makes the party much more appealing, especially to someone like me who is very picky about what they spend their money on. The original price of $75 is a lot of money, especially for a teenager who wants to eat out every day and still have enough money to go to the mall.

In previous years, the Rec Center has been an adequate location for the party. It is conveniently close to the high school which makes transportation easy. Though it can be a difficult place to host a party because the main building is a public facility and has limited hours of reservation.

Bowlero is a better location to host the party. This building is tailored towards big events and social gatherings, unlike the Rec Center which has room for those things but is a multi-purpose facility. Although it is further, it will be much easier to prepare for the party.

The new location also has a variety of events the Rec Center cannot provide. Bowlero has activities such as bowling, arcade games, laser tag and it provides dancing, cash prize raffles and food according to Bongarts. Although some things will be missed from the Rec Center itinerary, there are a much bigger variety of activities at Bowlero.

With the price decrease, along with the change in location and venue, the new Senior All Night Party is shaping up to be a much better social, entertaining event for all the new graduates.
