Echo staffer tries acai bowls
Restaurant has modern touch
October 17, 2022
Acai bowls are always a delicious treat . Over the summer, this new restaurant at the West End opened. It is right next to the Icon Movie Theater which is conveniently placed. Finding the restaurant wasn’t too difficult.
As soon as I walked in, I was very impressed by the interior design. It was very unique. I liked the mural and the surfboard table. The mural on the wall brought the place together and the lighting was bright which made the restaurant look bigger. It wasn’t too simplistic or modern; it had a consistent theme of blue and white. Everywhere I looked there was something new to see. I love how different it was than other restaurants.
I looked at the menu and they had a variety of options. All of the signature bowls didn’t sound that interesting to me so I decided to make my own bowl. I got 12 oz. acai base with honey oat and blueberries. While waiting for my bowl, I looked around and noticed that everything they serve is gluten free, dairy free, soy free and plant-based along with no refined sugars. I spoke with Allie P. She mentioned she loves this job.
The customer service was excellent and the speed of her work was very impressive. She made my bowl very quickly. The first bite was very delightful. It wasn’t too hard nor too soft. The acai was creamy and their blueberries and oats were the perfect amount. They complimented the acai very well.
I sat down and ate my bowl. It was very enjoyable. I noticed there was a jar which was filled with ice breakers and good conversation starters. This is a good twist and something I haven’t seen before.
This restaurant is a good place for a first date. I most definitely will be recommending it to friends and I will be going to Nautical bowls more often. I spent a total of 10.76 on my meal including a tip
