After seeing the fall musical, junior Eben Manegbe felt inspired to join the next production: the choir’s musical, “Guys and Dolls,” as Adelaide, one of the lead roles.

“I saw the fall musical and got inspired and I knew there were a lot of talented singers in the choir so I wanted to challenge myself,” Manegbe said.

“Guys and Dolls” director Lillian Zumberge said she is thrilled to return to the high school to work on the production.

“It is a total privilege to work with such a super talented group of young people and they never cease to amaze me with their awesome skills, creativity and hard work,” Zumberge said.

According to Zumberge, each lead role in the production was double cast in order to help in the rehearsal process.

“We like to give as many kids the opportunity to have a part as possible. And, it builds in automatic understudies,” Zumberge said.

Manegbe said cast members were called down to the choir room several times a week for two hours to rehearse.

“The rehearsal process was interesting but also fun. I know it takes a lot of work to make a musical great,” Manegbe said.

With opening night approaching, Zumberge said she feels proud with how the production turned out.

“Often times the rehearsal process can feel chaotic, but miracles always happen during tech week,” Zumberge said.

Performances take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 25-27 and 2 p.m. Feb. 28.
