Park announced that Superintendent Osei would be abruptly resigning, effective immediately.
Park families received a short letter explaining that he would be leaving the job, without any specific reasons why. The letter, which was written and signed by Board member Anne Casey, also stated that staff would remain dedicated to the community and families for the remainder of the year despite this sudden change.
“I want to assure the St. Louis Park Public Schools staff, families, students and community that we all remain committed to a successful school year. We have exceptional leaders, highly skilled educators and an all around phenomenal staff who will continue to prioritize our students and families each day,” wrote Casey. “Through the transition of leadership in our district, we will continue to center students and stay focused on the day-to-day operations that make our schools exceptional places for learning.”
The letter went on to mention that an interim superintendent has stepped up for the time being, and said that families would be kept in the loop with updates regarding these changes.
“We are grateful that Tami Reynolds, director of student services, has accepted the role of acting superintendent for the foreseeable future while we determine next steps for the superintendent role. We will continue to keep you informed about the plans for the superintendent role as more plans and decisions are made.”
The letter closed with thanking families for being flexible with this very sudden change.
“Thank you for your family’s continued momentum for a great school year.”
