When did you start playing soccer?
I started playing soccer when I was five years old for the St. Louis Park rec team. My parents put me in, and my brother wanted me to play as well. I loved it at first.
Who or what motivates you when you play?
My biggest motivation is to be the best I can—I do it for my parents. My parents are a really big support. I want to play with my teammates and support them too, but I also want to be the best I can be.
What’s the hardest thing about soccer?
The mindset is the hardest part. It’s a lot of running and it’s very physical. You have to make yourself do it and get up and practice.
What’s your favorite part about soccer?
My favorite part is the team. It’s the team dynamic you build and the community and all the friends you make.
What are some of your most proud accomplishments?
My proudest accomplishment in soccer is making the varsity team my freshman year and just kind of playing at a level that I wasn’t used to playing before.
What are your goals going forward this season?
Since there is only one game left, my goal is to play the best I can and make the most of it. I want to get better and have my team do well too.
What advice do you have for any new players that are looking to join?
Everyone’s super nice and it’s a great community. Soccer is not a very hard sport to learn and it’s really fun to play. The friendships you’ll make are definitely worth it.
