Park’s ultimate frisbee team, Crush, played against Roseville Sept. 16. This was their second game from this fall season and they started the season undefeated after beating Minnetonka Saturday September 16th.
Park’s game against Roseville was a great win for them having won 15-6. Sophomore Teddy Rich said that Crush played very well and worked as a team to get the win against Roseville.
“As a team, we played very well and were very connected,” Rich said. “I played well, but we can’t really do anything without a team.”
According to junior Henry Horstman Olson, Crush’s already strong offense is still developing and he feels the team is always improving.
“We had a lot of good deep cuts and we also learned a lot in terms of moving the disk laterally across the field,” Hortsman Olson said. “My favorite moment from today is when I went deep and caught it, and then got an assist later.”
Crush got an early lead, but allowed Roseville to put some points on the board before they could put it away. Senior and stand-in coach Tommy Walsh said they need to focus on taking better care of the disk.
“We need to focus on making more high percentage throws,” Walsh said.
Rich said their defense also played a pivotal role in Crush’s win over Roseville.
“My favorite moment was when Ethan got the hand block,” Rich said. “That was very huge and momentum changing.”
Crush competes next in a tournament at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 23 and 24 at Lake Nokomis Park.
