When did you start playing basketball?

I started playing basketball in first or second grade.

Why did you decide to play basketball?

Both (of) my older brothers play basketball and they always went to practices and I would sometimes go with (them). I’ve always been competitive and I was around a lot so I started playing it.

What’s your favorite part about basketball?

Probably winning. But other than that, the competitive nature in basketball and playing as a team.

What skillset do you have that helps you on the court?

I would say I have a pretty good basketball IQ. I know what’s going on in-game. I would also say that I’m a playmaker. I can find the open guy and make shots.

What position(s) do you play?

I play guard mostly, but I can play the forward positions if I need to.

Is there any player who you base your game off of?

I would say James Harden. He’s a lefty like me and I like the way he plays.

What skills do you think are important to have for basketball?

Being competitive and being a good teammate. It’s important to be a good leader on the court as well.

Who is your favorite basketball player and why?

My favorite basketball player is James Harden because he makes everything look easy and I like his playstyle. Overall, I think he is a good player.

What’s your favorite memory related to basketball

Probably winning the state championship back in third grade. It was a while back, but it was really fun. I would also say all the traveling tournaments from grades three to eight.

What advice would you give to people who want to try out basketball?

Just go for it. It’s a great time if you like basketball.
