Math team members work on practice problems after school. The math team practices every Monday in the leaning lab and they give out free popcorn.

Math Team

When Senior Kirby Goodman thinks about the benefits of math team, she thinks about how relaxed the schedule is.

“(At meetings) we just practice and get news, and just practice meet stuff. Members don’t have to show up to every meeting,” Goodman said. “But as for our official meets, we have five in a year.”

According to club adviser Kristin Johnson the club isn’t just for those who are great at math.

“(Math Team is) an opportunity for students who enjoy math, want to get better at it, or have a good skill at it,” Johnson said. “Students that have strength in math will find doing fun in the problem solving activities and developing different skills.”

Johnson said the club will begin to meet soon.

“Practices start in the beginning in October on Mondays,” Johnson said. “While a specific date hasn’t been decided we will have signs.”
