ACE continues planning and preparing Presidential Library model
Club members create rough drafts
Junior Annika Vignes walks into the Architecture, Construction and Engineering (ACE) meeting ready to further discuss the club’s plans for their model of President Obama’s Presidential Library.
Vignes said the club has created their rough drafts for the library, but are still working on building the models.
“We’re working on materials and working on the models. Then we need to start working on making the models and finishing estimations,” Vignes said.
According to ACE adviser Al Wachutka, the club had a slow start with planning their models this year because of attendance issues.
“We’re a little behind schedule, but we are every year,” Wachutka said. “It’s been hard because the consistency of students being there is not always as good as it could be.”
According to junior ACE member Lindsey Prestholdt, winter break hindered the club’s ability to meet and plan. However, she feels they are still making progress with their project.
“Winter break did hurt us because we missed three solid meetings, so that slowed us down, but I think we are still on track,” Prestholdt said.
Vignes said the club will present their model in a competition at the University of Minnesota at the end of April.
Wachutka said ACE will continue meeting every Thursday after school until April.
