Passion drives service for Birdfeeder manager
Junior finds joy in helping others
Junior Rosie Colacino became a manager of the Birdfeeder this year.
“I am one of the birdfeeder managers, along with Dylisi Sheffield and Annika Eldridge,” Colacino said. “I got involved by joining community service class and applying to be one of the Birdfeeder managers.”
Adviser Sophia Ross said Colacino brings special skills to the club.
“Rosie is one of our Birdfeeder managers this year and I think the biggest thing she’s contributed is her being so artistic,” Ross said. “She brings that art angle to everything that we do and on all of the things that we send out for the Birdfeeder.”
Colacino said she enjoys knowing families have food to eat when they need it.
“Many Park families have to choose between food and other necessities so it’s nice to know that we are making it a bit easier for them,” Colacino said. “My favorite part is restocking and organizing.”
Ross said Colacino brings her own passion for design to the Birdfeeder.
“I think that she brings in her love for graphic arts into this service project that the students are working on,” Ross said. “She’s changed the way our website looks and she’s changed some of the way our social media looks and some of our flyers. She just kind of put her personal touch on that.”
According to Colacino, Birdfeeder is currently working on cleaning for the new semester.
“Right now we are working on cleaning out our binders that have our backpack history, donation history, thank you notes and social media info,” Colacino said. “We do this at the end of the semester to get a fresh start for the second half of the year.”
