Psych meeting setup to prepare students for next year
Session answers questions and previews class

According to AP and IB psychology teacher Greg Goddard, the summer homework meeting is a time for future psychology students to learn about the class they are taking next year.
“(The meeting) is basically just an opportunity for students to ask questions about the summer homework and get the dates down,” Goddard said. “And then just basically telling them maybe just an overview of what they are going to studying in the course.”
Goddard said the homework has always had a purpose of getting students ready for the course beginning in the fall.
“For years we have had a summer homework assignment for AP and IB (psychology). The intent of that assignment is to kind of just prime the students’ brains about psychology,” Goddard said.
According to Goddard, the two main aspects of the summer homework are learning about specific psychologists and case studies.
“These are psychologists that they are going to be learning about and repeatedly introduced to throughout the year. There is also two case studies that they read, and these case studies kind of deal with interesting topics in psychology,” Goddard said.
The meeting is at 8:15 a.m. tomorrow in room B236.
