Periods now one minute longer to ease lunchroom congestion
As confused students look to teal and fuchsia colored signs taped in the lunchroom to decode the new class schedule for Tuesdays and Thursdays, they will now see yet another change in daily schedules.
These changes will begin Sept. 18. Interim vice-principal Scott Meyers said the schedule revision was made to avoid overcrowding in the lunchroom and to shorten the lines near doors as students await dismissal from lunch.
“Overall the class length won’t be impacted, but lunches will now be much more natural with the flow of eating and then leaving,” Meyers said.
Junior Max Ingram said he believes that the schedule changes have made for more confusion, but also have upsides.
“It’s odd waking up at different times every other day, but I enjoy sleeping in” Ingram said. “I think these changes will make lunches shorter, but also a lot easier to find chairs and tables.”
