Who inspired you to play football?
I would say my parents inspired me the most. They put me in when I was young, and I have loved it ever since. I would watch the Vikings games with them, and Odell Beckham Jr. highlights, too.
How long have you played football?
I have played since I was 4-years-old in Kindergarten. I started in flag football and joined tackle in 7th grade. I had always been a wide receiver until this year I got transitioned into quarterback.
What motivates you before games?
My parents motivate me the most. They want me to play my best and work hard. I also pray before games to help me get in the right mindset.
What’s your favorite football memory?
When I watched the ‘Minneapolis Miracle’ live, my family and I were all going crazy and screaming. It was awesome. My favorite in-game memory was when I hurdled a kid on Tartan’s football team last year. I hurdled him and then ran for a long touchdown.
What’s a goal you have for this season?
To keep improving and end the season with a 50% win percentage. A personal goal I have is to throw more touchdowns and fewer interceptions. I also want to get 1000 passing yards.
What is a strength in your game?
Being a dual threat, I can run and throw the ball well, so the defense has to be ready for both. I had a 76-yard running touchdown against Apple Valley, and that showed my running abilities.
What part of your game do you want to grow in?
Reading the defense—being able to understand how they are playing and react to it. That goes along with making faster decisions, too.
Who has had the most significant impact on your football career?
Mr Hanson, my middle school teacher and coach. He helped me become a better leader and player.
