Attendance support staff member Shawna Belcher: “Some of it I’m honestly still kind of in the dark about I don’t know too much about the fight or fights that I’m not sure took place. As far as the meeting we had upstairs with all of the students for one I felt that the meeting and the students having a space to voice their opinions and I felt that it was very powerful and very necessary. I think it was effective, for the most part, because students had a chance to just really get their feelings out. As far as the reason for the meeting that is bothersome to be honest. Honestly we still don’t know for sure what exactly took place we have different student perceptions of stuff or what they know happened. I wasn't there, so I can’t really point fingers regarding the situation. If it is something that definitely took place that is very bothersome. I think it is inappropriate and I feel like right now is a hard time for the students, for some staff as well. Honestly, I think right now our focus is mainly just trying to be supportive. I feel like a lot of kids need that and I’ve had kids come in here who really just need support.”
