Hi!!! :))) My name is Hanna and I am your co-in-depth editor. You’ll find me playing tennis, reading and hanging out with my ultimate frisbee team. Yes, we have eaten a whole ice cream cake by ourselves once, and yes, it was delicious. In the summer you can find me sailing on the lakes and playing tennis at MIT and Oakdale. If you ever feel like a slice of cheesecake come visit me at Muddypaws cheesecake where I work! I love to be outside enjoying the sunshine. I also love to play piano and guitar and my favorite song on both instruments is Hallelujah.

Math teacher Kristin Johnson: “The announcement came out during first hour, and up to that point I had no idea what had happened at the end of Monday that lead to this announcement so I was taken off guard, and so when I finally learned what had happened, what prompted that I was shocked and in disbelief. Then shortly after I had found out I had a student, and it was an honest question, but I had a student ask me, ‘What’s the big deal?’ So that really brought to light that there are a lot of people who dont have an understanding of other peoples religions and so the hijab coming off, my understanding for those people I mean that apart of who they are. It’s not just like flipping a hat off. That really is a big deal. So I had two reactions. I can’t believe that happened I can’t believe that happened in St. Louis Park because I feel that we are a pretty open, diverse school body and pretty accepting of each other. But then seeing that one students reaction it also gave me — we have a lot to learn about each other and that one thing we probably need to do better as a school is to help each other learn perspectives and get a better understanding about people and cultures.
